About Multimedia Photographer Matt Kirwan
The Past
Beginnning his professional career as a photographer in the Royal Air Force, Matt Kirwan quickly learnt how to work under pressure, whether shooting Tornado fast-jets over the Anatolian mountain range or stomaching the low-flying antics of Chinook helicopters, all while producing award winning military imagery.
In 2007, after five years service Matt left the RAF to pursue a career as a press photographer. Within weeks of receiving distinctions on the renowned NCTJ Photojournalism course at Sheffield, he began working for one of the country's leading news agencies covering news, sports and features photography for UK national newspapers and magazines.
Matt's imagery was regularly commissioned by The Times and The Guardian and appeared on the front pages of The Independent and The Daily Mail.
The Present
In 2010, after the birth of his son and a move back to his native north east, Matt has combined his growing passion for the power of multimedia with the start of his new business venture - the production of bespoke multimedia pieces to discerning commercial and private sector clients throughout the UK.
